Realicé mis estudios en la Facultad de Matemáticas de la Universidad de La Laguna donde obtuve el título de Licenciado en Matemáticas en 1990. Ese mismo año me integré en el Grupo de Paralelismo de esta Universidad y empecé a impartir docencia en el Centro Superior de Informática . Obtuve el Título de Doctor en Informática en 1996 con el trabajo titulado "Diseño e implementación de Lenguajes orientados al Modelo PRAM" . Desde 1999 soy Profesora Titular de Universidad en el área de Lenguajes y Sistemas Informáticos. Estoy interesada en temas relacionados con Lenguajes de Programación Paralelos, Paralelismo Anidado, Distribución de la Carga de Trabajo, Algoritmos Paralelos Divide y Vencerás y de Ramificación y Acotación, Programación Orientada a Objetos, Lenguaje Java, Lenguaje C++, Problema de Corte de Patrones, Problema del Cubrimiento. En la actualidad soy la investigadora responsable por la Universidad de La Laguna del proyeto coordinado nacional TRACER . Además he participado como miembro del equipo investigador en los proyectos MaGoS , MaLLBa y PAT .

I started my studies in Maths at La Laguna University and finally ended it in 1990 when I received my master degree. Then I started my Ph D studies and I became a member of the Parallel Computing Group of La Laguna University . Also at the end of that year I started to teach in the Faculty of Computer Science . I got my Ph D in Computer Science in 1996 with the work titled "Design and implementation of PRAM oriented languajes". From 1999 I am an asistant professor in the Computer Science area. My research interest include: Parallel Programing Languages, Nested Parallelims, implementation techniques for parallel programming, load balancing algorithms, Parallel Divide and Conquer and Branch and Bound, Object Oriented Programming, Java Language, C++ Language, Nesting Problem, Set Covering Problem. Currently I am the responsible for La Laguna University of the coordinated project TRACER . In the last years I had been a research member of the MaGoS , MaLLBa and PAT Projects.
